A Thanksgiving Celebration
In our house, we use the fine china...
Because when we got married I registered for 12 place settings of Crestwood Platinum. Plus, the platters and serving pieces and wine goblets and chargers. Even the gravy boat!!
I guess I envisioned having fancy adult dinner parties, and twenty years later I've still never had one.
But I DO pull out that fancy china every year for our own little family at Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter.
Even back when I had 4 little boys under 8!!
We fill the wine goblets with cranberry juice and Sprite. We use the fancy cloth napkins. We practice manners and laugh. A lot! And I light a votive candle (left over from our wedding day) at each place setting that they love to blow out at the end.
When I registered for all that stuff years ago, I pictured saving it for special guests or fancy parties or notable celebrations...
But really, these little ones growing up in our home ARE the most special people who will ever surround our table...
And to me they are definitely cause for celebration.
